Surrounded by the Boreal Forest, the city contains 330 freshwater lakes within its municipal boundaries and has more lakes than any other municipality in Canada.  The city also comprises of pristine forests and woodlands and many provincial parks are within short driving distance. 

Sudbury is also part of the Sudbury Basin and contains rich ore deposits of copper, nickel, as well as other metals including cobalt, platinum, gold, and silver.  With a high level of activity in the mining, economic, and innovations sectors, the City of Greater Sudbury is a great place to live, work, study, and raise a family.
